From her years of teaching singers, Sharny has developed two CD's of vocal exercises. One for general vocal practise and development, and the other specifically for those wanting to work on their jazz and scatting style. Each of these are simple to use and come with a little booklet, outlining the exercises and the correct way to do them. Just pop the CD in and away you go!

It is often difficult for singing students to practise at home without fully remembering what was given in the lessons & without accompaniment. These basic exercises have been devised over the years of teaching, and include demo and accompaniment. Apart from basic “engagement” exercises, some of the exercises have been individually crafted to develop awareness and grasp of intervals, scales, broken chords, chromatics and more. If students carefully monitor themselves aurally, the exercises will also improve pitch and intonation. Generally these exercises will help develop strength, range, control, and general vocal ability. They are also enjoyable. Have fun!

Six Exercises For Jazz Singers

These exercise have been devised as a response to several students' requests for something that will help them develop jazz style and ability, especially fir improvisation and "scatting". They have been individually crafted to develop awareness and grasp of certain aspects of jazz phrasing & vocabulary. They will improve pitch and intonation within that style, and will also develop general vocal strength & range. They are also heaps of fun!

INTERESTING FACT:
Sharny's song "The Blessing" is being used all over the world in many & varied situations. In April 2010 the Australian String Quartet performed it at a wedding in Adelaide! This song on it's own accounts for half of the royalty earnings attracted by Sharny's full catalogue! The song came quickly to Sharny one morning, many years ago, as she yearned in her heart for many more people to come closer to the heart of God.

This website showcases and makes available for sale the Gospel, Kids & Jazz music of Sharny . Sharny is also the creator of gospel musicals of varying lengths, suitable for school & church production, with full production kits available. These musicals can be performed in a variety of ways by both children and adults, or a combination of both. The format is very flexible.

Let My Song Be of You
- was recorded & mixed over 2008-2010 in the IMERSD studio at Qld Conservatorium, with Matt Hitchcock at the helm. Russ Walker (Stan Walker’s brother) is a lead singer alongside Sharny. The band & choir are Sharny's colleagues, Con students, friends & Sharny's own talented family. Initially meant to be a demo of her worship songs written over the years, it evolved into a fairly decent album which is blessing people already it seems! These songs are also for use in churches & Christian schools.

KIDS CD's
Sharny’s songs for “kids” are well-known for being equally appealing to adults. She has been involved with children’s ministry since she was a teenager & has written many songs for special events, summer schools, and for her four commissioned musicals. Sharny was musical director for Here's Humphrey on the TV network, and wrote songs for other kids' TV programs.

Years ago a school principal asked Sharny to write an end-of-year performance for the school. She did, it was a great success & she wrote more musicals in the subsequent years, to the same brief - lots of music, fun, easy to produce, & with a message! These musicals come as individual listening CD's or as a complete production kit with script, score & backing tracks! DO IT! It's too much fun! CHECK THEM OUT! (not all are available yet, but Sharny is working day & night to make it happen!)

OTHER ARTISTS
Margot Heidenreich is a worship leader/singer/songwriter from Adelaide, South Australia. She has been involved in prophetic worship and ministry for many years and has a voice similar in sound to the well-known Celtic artist, Loreena McKennitt, but with a decidedly different spiritual aspect.
These two beautiful albums of originals by Margot have been arranged & produced by Sharny, with Sharny's brother Steve Russell arranging much of "Big Heart of God".
